Boiarka
a city (until 1956, a settlement) in Kiev-Sviatoshino Raion, Kiev Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, 24 km southwest of Kiev, with a railroad station. Population, 30,000 (1969). There is a wax factory, a garment factory, and food-processing enterprises. During the seventh to third centuries B.C. , a Scythian fortified town (with earthworks and a reservoir), the ruins of which remain to this day, was built where Boiarka now stands.
