boiler plate

boiler plate [′bȯil·ər ‚plāt]
(computer science)
A commonly used expression or phrase that is stored in memory and can be copied into a word-processing document as needed.
(geology)
A fairly smooth surface on a cliff, consisting of flush or overlapping slabs of rock, having little or no foothold.
(hydrology)
A crusty, frozen surface of snow.
(metallurgy)
Flat-rolled steel, usually ¼ to ½ inch (6 to 13 millimeters) thick; used mainly for covering ships and making boilers and tanks. Also known as boiler steel.

The contractor has the right to rely upon the specifications as being reasonably accurate, even if there are boiler plate warnings and disclaimers in the bid documents.
Determining which chunks of boiler plate you need is usually a simple process that could be done quite cheaply by walk-in clinics.
