Bolling, Richard (Walker) (1916– ) U.S. representative; born in New York City. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, he worked in educational administration before joining the army (1941–46), fought in the Pacific, and served in Japan under General MacArthur. Awarded a Bronze Star, he was veterans' advisor to the University of Kansas before going to the U.S. House of Representatives (Dem., Mo.; 1949–83).
