(company)BBN Technologies - A company, originally known as Bolt, Beranek and Newman, Inc. (BBN), based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

BBN were awarded the original contract to build the ARPANET and have been extensively involved in Internet development. They are responsible for managing NNSC, CSNET, and NEARnet.

The language LOGO was developed at BBN, as was the BBN Butterfly supercomputer.

The Automated Issue Identification System (AIIS) developed by Bolt, Beranek and Newman is run as a prototype at those two IRS service centers.
Prior to launching AWS, Marshall served as a program manager and lead engineer at BBN (formerly Bolt, Beranek and Newman, the company credited with starting the Internet) on a number of advanced military sensor, signal processing and networking programs.
In addition, Howard has held various positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, BDM International, and Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN) Communications Corporation.
