cherry picker [′cher·ē ‚pik·ər]
(aerospace engineering)
A crane used to remove the aerospace capsule containing astronauts from the top of the rocket in the event of a malfunction.
(mechanical engineering)
Any of several small traveling cranes, especially one used to hoist a passenger on the end of a boom.
(mining engineering)
A small hoist used to facilitate car changing near the loader in a mine tunnel.
cherry picker
A machine for lifting men or materials on a platform at the end of an extendable boom; usually mounted on a carrier with wheels to provide mobility.
