Boris Aleksandrovich Maiorov

Maiorov, Boris Aleksandrovich 

Born Feb. 11, 1938, in Moscow. Soviet hockey player and coach. Honored Master of Sport (1963). Became a member of the CPSU in 1967.

Maiorov graduated from the Moscow Aviation Technology Institute in 1961. He played ice hockey for teams that were several times the champions of the Soviet Union (1962,1967, and 1969), Europe, and the world (1963-68) and of the Olympic Games (1964, 1968). For many years he played for the Spartak team, on the same line as V. I. Starshinov and E. A. Maiorov. From 1962 to 1965 and in 1967-68 he was captain of the Soviet national team. He has been awarded two orders.
