a city, the center of Borispol’ Raion, Kiev Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Situated on the Kiev-Khar’kov highway, 38 km southeast of Kiev. It has a railroad station. Population in 1969, 30,600. The city manufactures food products, reinforced concrete, clothing, and fleece products. There is a museum of history and local lore in the city. The airport for Kiev is located there. Borispol’ has been known since the late 16th century.
