Boss, Louis
Born Oct. 26, 1848, in Providence; died Oct. 5, 1912, in Albany. American astronomer. Boss was director of the Albany Observatory (beginning in 1878), where he observed the stars on the meridional circle. He created a fundamental system of the positions of stars and issued a catalog (1910) containing the exact positions of 6,188 stars. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
