Boulding, Kenneth (Ewart) (1910–93) economist; born in Liverpool, England. Arriving in the U.S.A. in 1937, he taught at several colleges including the University of Michigan (1949–77) and the University of Colorado (1977). A prolific writer, his major contributions include promoting a social science approach to economics, synthesizing Keynesian and neoclassical economic theory, and work on evolutionary economics and grant economics.
