manuscripts of representatives of the highest level of Russian feudal lords (boyars, okol’nichie, dumnye d’iaki, stol’niki, striapchie, and others) with data about payments (for their services) in kind and by cash, service activities, and so forth. They appeared in the second half of the 16th century. Boyar books from the period 1626–92 have been preserved.
