Boys' method [′bȯiz ‚meth·əd]
(optics)
A method of measuring the refractive index of a lens, in which the curvatures of the lens surfaces are determined by positioning a light source so that reflection from a surface gives an image coincident with the object; these curvatures and the focal length are used to calculate the refractive index.

Although we could find no literature on gender-specific treatment for depressed adolescent boys, interventions that include gender role analysis (O'Neil, 1990) or that honor boys' methods of relating to others and dealing with emotions (Kiselica, 2001) show promise for application to adolescent boys' depression treatment.
