Bozherianov, Nikolai Nikolaevich
Born 1811; died Nov. 10, 1876. Russian scientist and naval architect. Major general (1867). Upon graduating from the St. Petersburg College of Naval Architecture in 1830, Bozherianov was attached to a naval vocational crew training center in order to teach mathematics and mechanics. Beginning in 1832 he taught a course in steam mechanics to classes of officers and midshipmen of the naval corps. In 1842, Bozherianov wrote a book entitled A Description of the Invention and Gradual Perfection of Steam Engines and in 1849, The Theory of Steam Engines (awarded the Demidov Prize). All of Bozherianov’s subsequent activity was devoted to the training of Russian engineering personnel. REFERENCELakhanin, V., and K.
