Bradley, Joseph P. (1813–92) Supreme Court justice; born in Berne, N.Y. Appointed by President Grant to the U.S. Supreme Court (1870–92), he was active in the legal problems concerning the Reconstruction and cast the deciding electoral vote in the Hayes-Tilden presidential election (1877).
