Brill, Abraham A. (Arden) (1874–1948) psychoanalyst, translator; born in Kanezuga, Galicia. He emigrated to the United States at age 15 and took his medical degree at Columbia University in 1903. In 1908 he became the first Freudian psychoanalyst in the United States. He is best known as the translator of Sigmund Freud's works into English, including the compendium The Basic Writings of Sigmund Freud (1938).
