British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC)


founded in 1927. It is controlled by the British government. It has exclusive rights to radio broadcasting on the territory of Great Britain. In the area of television, private companies compete with the BBC. The BBC’s overseas broadcasting service broadcasts in 38 languages (1970). Its broadcasts into the USSR and other socialist countries are of an ideological tendency that is hostile to socialism.
