Brodskii, Nikolai Leont’evich
Born Nov. 15 (27), 1881, in Yaroslavl; died June 5, 1951, in Moscow. Soviet literary scholar. He graduated from Moscow University in 1904 and became a professor there in 1926. He became an acting member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the RSFSR in 1947. Brodskii’s works are devoted to the study of 19th-century Russian literature in relation to the development of Russian social thought. (He has written about M. Iu. Lermontov, V. G. Belinskii, A. I.
