Buchach
a city, administrative center of Buchach Raion, Ternopol’ Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located on the Strypa River in the Dnestr basin. It has a railroad station. Population, 11,600 (1969). Buchach has enterprises of the food industry (including a liquor and starch combine and sugar, butter and cheese, and canning plants), a mechanical foundry plant, a building materials plant, and a sovkhoztechnicum.
