Established: Proclaimed on December 28, 1961.
Location: 1.5 miles northeast of the Island of Saint Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Facilities: Beaches, picnic area, bathhouse, self-guided trails. A visitor center is located in Fort Christiansvaern in dowtown Christiansted.
Activities: Hiking, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, boat tours, fishing, wildlife viewing.
Special Features: The park features the finest marine garden in the Caribbean, as well as having coral grottoes, sea fans, gorgonias, and tropical fishes. The island, which has a nature trail and beaches, is a rookery for frigate birds and brown pelicans and is a nesting area for sea turtles.
