These different slope characteristics, combined with the wide range of materials used in roofing--from cedar shakes to asphalt shingles; from tile to painted metal shingles; from built-up roofs to various singleply systems and many others--make "one-size-fits all" measurement and rating systems tricky at a practical level, but, after years of effort, the extant methods seem to handle most situations quite well.
Perma-Tech polyurea can be applied as a protective topcoat over metal, asphalt or built-up roof systems, or over sprayed-on polyurethane foam (such as Perma-Tech-XC-407) to create a tough, resilient elastomeric roof system.
The built-up roof typically involves applying alternate layers of hot bitumen (asphalt or coal tar based) and bitumen saturated felts.
