Buinsk
a town and the administrative center of Buinsk Raion, Tatar ASSR, located on the Karly River (tributary of the Sviiaga), with a railroad station (Bua) on the Ul’ianovsk-Sviiazhsk line. Population, 13,600 (1968). Buinsk has a makhorka factory, a butter and cheese factory, a yeast factory, a sugar refinery, a meat combine, and a poultry farm. There is a veterinary technicum and a medical school. Buinsk was founded in 1780. Buinsk an urban-type settlement in Ibresi Raion, Chuvash ASSR, with a railroad station on the Kanash-Ruzaevka line.
