Bulgakov, Aleksandr Aleksandrovich
Born Mar. 6 (19), 1907, in Kharkov. Soviet state and party figure. Member of the CPSU since 1937. Born into the family of a worker. Bulgakov graduated from the Kharkov Evening Electrical Engineering Institute in 1939 and worked as an engineer in plants from 1939 until 1942. From 1942 he has held Party, Soviet, and trade union posts. He was secretary of the Kharkov city committee of the Ukrainian CP from 1950 to 1953, chairman of the Kharkov city executive committee from 1953 to January 1954, second secretary of the Kharkov Oblast Committee of the Ukrainian CP from 1954 to 1959, and secretary of the All-Union Central Trade Union Council from 1959 to 1964. In 1964 he was appointed chairman of the State Committee on Vocational and Technical Education of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. He was elected a candidate member of the CPSU Central Committee at the Twenty-second Congress (1961) and the Twenty-third Congress (1966) of the CPSU. He was a deputy to the sixth, seventh, and eighth convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. He has been awarded two Orders of Lenin. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
