Bulgakov, Boris Vladimirovich
Born June 24 (July 7), 1900, in Moscow; died there on Apr. 29, 1952. Soviet scientist in the field of mechanics; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1946). Bulgakov graduated from the First Moscow University in 1928. He taught at Moscow State University beginning in 1930 and at the Moscow Higher Technical School beginning in 1939 (became a professor in 1939). Beginning in 1941 he worked at the Institute of Mechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. His main works are on the applied gyroscope theory and the theory of nonlinear oscillations and on follow-up systems and gyroscopic instruments. WORKSPrikladnaia teoriia giroskopov, 2nd ed.
