Burr, Raymond (1917–93) TV actor; born in Westminster, Canada. Coming from Canada to study at Stanford University, he began as a stage actor, appearing in regional theater; he then moved into television dramas and movies. He starred as the burly detective in Perry Mason (1957–66) and Ironside (1967–75), winning two Emmies. He went on to appear in several TV miniseries and in two-hour versions of Perry Mason.
