Busa

Busa 

also known as Busava or Boko (self-designation, Busano or Bisano), a people populating scattered regions in Upper Volta along the border with Ghana (the middle reaches of the White Volta River), in Ghana, and in Nigeria along the border with Dahomey (the middle reaches of the Niger River). Population, approximately 320, 000 (1967). Their language is related to the southern group of the Mande linguistic family. The majority of the Busa have preserved their local religious traditions, although a small number are practicing Muslims. Their basic economic activities are agriculture (sorghum and rice are the main crops) and cattle raising.
