Bykov,Pavel Borisovich

Born Mar. 28 (Apr. 10), 1914, in the village of Tiumenevo, now in Riazan Oblast. Worker and production innovator; one of the pioneers in mastering high-speed metalworking methods. Member of the CPSU since 1947.

While a lathe operator in the Moscow Grinding Machine Factory in 1938, Bykov began to familiarize himself with high-speed cutting methods. He graduated from the Machine-Tool Technicum in 1957. Since 1959 he has been an engineering technologist at the Moscow Grinding Machine Factory. He was a deputy at the third and fourth convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Bykov is the author of the books Our Contribution to the Five-year Plan (1947) and The Road to Happiness (1951).
