Bzyb’
a river in Abkhazian ASSR. Length, 110 km; basin area, 1,510 sq km. It flows through mountains in the western Caucasus; not far from its mouth, it flows out into a plain and divides into two branches, which enter the Black Sea. At the river’s exit from the mountains, its average annual discharge of water is 97 cu m per sec. The Bzyb’ River is used for the floating of logs. Lake Ritsa is located in the Bzyb’ basin, at the headwaters of the Iupshara River. An auto road, which partly runs through the Bzyb’ River valley, goes from the Black Sea highway to the lake.
