CDE Help Hypertext

One of the most valuable features of the Encyclopedia is the capability of jumping to the definition of a term by just clicking or highlighting the words ANYWHERE in the text window. Unlike HTML pages on the Web, CDE's "virtual hypertext" capability means there is no need for predefined links in the text. Since a technical definition often uses a large number of technical terms in its explanation, virtual hypertext eliminates the need to have an abundance of underlined words and phrases that distract the reader (see overlinking).

URLs Are Live Links
In CDE, Web site addresses (URLs) are also live links without being underlined. To go to a Web site, just click any reference that begins with www. or http://. For example, click on www.computerlanguage.com to go to The Computer Language Company's Web site.
