CDE Help Search text

To search for every occurrence of a word or phrase within the text, click in SEARCH TEXT (or press Tab), type your term and press Enter. The search always starts at the current location in the text window and stops at the next match or the end of the definitions, whichever comes first. To continue the search, press Enter or click the SEARCH button.

To search the entire database from A to Z, start at the top of the file by pressing the Home key while the red bar is over the text window. To return to the LOOK UP box, click in the box or press Tab.

For "CDE on the Web" Users
The Search Text feature may be considerably slower on the "CDE on the Web" version than on the local Windows version. However, once you have searched through all the text, it is cached locally on your hard disk, and the next pass through will be faster. Each time we update our database, the files in your local text cache are no longer used. Therefore, when you see the message "New Indexes Being Downloaded," please understand that, once again, a sequential search will take time.
