CDF

(1) (Central Distribution Frame) A connecting unit (typically a hub) that acts as a central distribution point to all the nodes in a zone or domain. See MDF.

(2) (Channel Definition Format) The file format used in Microsoft's Active Channel technology. Channel providers store CDF files on their Web servers, which contain the URLs to the pages and subpages that make up the channel's offerings. When you select a channel from your desktop, the underlying CDF file is accessed. See Active Channel.
