CeBIT

CeBIT
(CEntrum der Büro und InformationsTechnik, Center for Office and Information Technology) The largest information technology trade show in the world targeted to industry professionals. Organized by Deutsche Messe, AG, Hannover, Germany, www.cebit.de, CeBIT is held annually in Hannover in March. In 2007, more than 6,000 exhibitors from around the world drew 480,000 attendees.

In 2003, CeBIT made its debut in the U.S. taking the June time slot previously occupied by TECHXNY/PC EXPO. There were 12,264 attendees and 362 exhibitors. Despite several attempts to make CeBIT America take hold, the U.S. venue was discontinued in 2005.

ISTANBUL, Oct 7, 2009 (TUR) -- Turkish President Abdullah Gul inaugurated the CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia Fair at TUYAP Beylikduzu Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul on Wednesday.
Byline: Reuters(Reuters) FRANKFURT: Europe s biggest technology fair CeBit aims to entice cash-conscious business customers with software aimed at coping with the recession while itself continuing to experience a hemorrhage of trade-exhibitors.
By 2008, the CeBIT expo attendance was at 495,000 and was held from 4 March to 9 March 2008.
