Cabimas

 

a city in Venezuela, on the northeast shore of Lake Maracaibo, in the state of Zulia. Population, 141, 300 (1969). It is a center for the extraction and refining of petroleum. A pipeline links Cabimas with the oil-exporting port of Punta Cardón.
