Cabot, Richard Clarke (1868–1939) physician, medical reformer; born in Brookline, Mass. (brother of Hugh Cabot). He was affiliated with Harvard Medical School (1899–1932) and Massachusetts General Hospital (1898–1921). He introduced the practice of medical social service so that a physician could treate the whole person. As early as 1913, he advocated prepaid medical group practice. From 1920–34, he taught social ethics at Harvard and he published on a variety of social issues as well as on medical topics. |
