Location: In northeast and north-central Utah and southwestern Wyoming. Accessible by US 80, 91, and 189; UT 150. Nearby cities/towns include Brigham City, Kamas, Logan, Ogden, and Salt Lake City. Facilities: 4 visitor centers, 73 campgrounds, dispersed camping, 33 picnic areas, 2 marinas, boat ramps, trails (1,524 miles), 5 ski areas (concession operated), scenic drives. Activities: Camping, hunting, fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, OHV riding, rock climbing, wildlife viewing, cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeingm snowmobiling. Special Features: Seven designated wilderness areas: Lone Peak, Twin Peak, Mount Olympus, Deseret Peak, High Uinta, Wellsville, and Mount Naomi. Logan Canyon Scenic Byway winds through the forest, and 500 million years of geologic history unfold in rugged rock formations; Bear Lake, a large scenic lake often called the "Carribean of the Rockies" for its turquoise blue water, a result of light reflecting off limestone particles suspended in the water See other parks in Utah.
