| Alice Quiocho is an associate professor in the College of Education at California State University San Marcos. California State University San Marcos Office of Extended Studies has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation to establish the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. The Barahona Center for the Study of Books in Spanish for Children and Adolescents at California State University San Marcos is sponsoring three workshops in the summer of 2002: Books and Reading: Strategies for English Language Learners in Grades K-8 (June 24-25); Current Issues: Books in Spanish for Young Readers (July 8-10); and Literature in Spanish for Children and Adolescents (July 22-24). |
