 on cloning techniques in animals. In 1995 they cloned two lambs using embryonic cells, and in 1996 they produced Dolly the sheep, the first mammal to be cloned from a single cell of an adult animal. From 1997 to 2012 Campbell was head of embryology at PPL Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company in Scotland, where a lamb was created from the skin cells of fetal sheep and four lambs were created from the original genetic material used in the creation of Dolly. He also was a professor (1999–2012) at the Univ. of Nottingham.
