Camras, Marvin (1916–  ) electrical engineer, inventor; born in Chicago. He developed a successful wire recorder in the 1930s and in a long career at the ITT Research Institute received some 500 patents in the field of electronic communications. His inventions are used in magnetic tape recorders, motion picture sound equipment, and videotape recording.
