the Canadian news agency. A cooperative association of newspaper owners founded in 1917, the Canadian Press is the principal channel of official information for the press, radio, and television. As of 1973, it served more than 100 Canadian newspapers, as well as radio and television stations. Foreign news is received primarily from the Associated Press, Reuters, and France Presse.
