Canandaigua (kănəndā`gwə), city (1990 pop. 10,725), seat of Ontario co., W central N.Y., in the Finger Lakes region, at the northern end of Canandaigua Lake; settled 1789, inc. 1913. It is a resort and farm-trade center, with electronics manufacturing. The courthouse was the scene of Susan B.
