A program which has been written to solve a particular problem, is available to users of a computer system, and is usually fixed in form and capable of little or no modification.

In both subjects, teachers are using canned programs, Read 180 and Accelerated Math, to deliver the pre-packaged curriculum.
While canned programs have their limitations, their real strong suit is in the ease of use.
