Cantho 

a city in southern Vietnam, in the Mekong Delta on the Bassac River; administrative center of Can Tho Autonomous Municipality (Nam Phan Region). Population, 110, 000 (1969). Can Tho is the center of a rice-growing area. Rice is processed and coconut oil is manufactured in the city; a soap-making factory and tobacco enterprises are also there. Can Tho has an experimental agricultural station. It is a river port.

Cafatex Vietnam, based in the Chauthanh District of Cantho on the Mekong Delta (Fax: 84-71 846 728), will show off its wide range of shrimp, pangasius and other products in Hall 7, Stand 1744.
In cooperation with Hanoi Open University, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and Cantho University, the channel broadcasts 6 to 8 hours a day of science and training programs.
Technologies and management strategies for addressing these issues have been developed during collaborative research by CSIRO Marine Research, Sydney University, Cantho University and three Vietnamese government organisations.
