Caraglio, Giovanni Jacopo (jōvän`nē yä`kōpō kärä`lyō), c.1500–1565, Italian engraver and designer, known also as Jacobus Parmensis and Jacobus Veronensis. He was a pupil of Raimondi and achieved distinction as an engraver on copper and, later, as a designer of medals and engraver of gems. His plates, about 70 in number, are chiefly reproductions of works of the Italian masters—Raphael, Titian, Michelangelo, and others. How to thank TFD for its existence?
