a spring on Mount Parnassus near Del-phi (in Central Greece). In ancient Greece the Castalian Springwas revered as the sacred spring of the god Apollo and theMuses, granting inspiration to poets and musicians. Waters fromthe spring also served as a purifying ablution for the manypilgrims who journeyed to Delphi.
