Cattermole, George, 1800–1868, English watercolor painter and illustrator. His subject matter was varied, and his works were popular during his lifetime. He painted picturesque scenes of antique subjects in a romantic mode. He made illustrations for some of Dickens's works, including Barnaby Rudge.
