Cavernitis

an inflammation of the corpora cavernosa of the penis.

Cavernitis is manifested by high body temperature and pain, redness, and swelling of the penis; an abscess may form relatively rapidly. Cavernitis arises acutely as a complication of local (ure-thritis) or systemic (sepsis) infectious processes. Cavernitis istreated with antibiotics, local heat, and surgery (lancing of abscesses).[11–-1–1]
