Cedar Rock Location: 3 miles northwest of Quasqueton. Facilities: Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home, visitor center. Activities: Free guided tours are given daily from May through October (Tues-Sun). Special Features: Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in the late 1940s, Cedar Rock is an excellent example of Wright's "Usonian" style of architecture. Nearly everything at Cedar Rock bears the architect's imprint--he designed the furniture, selected the carpets, chose the draperies, and even picked out the accessories. Cedar Rock is one of seven Iowa residences designed by Wright. The home and grounds were given to the state in 1981 by its original owners, Mr and Mrs Lowell Walter.
