Centrino
The first x86 chip platform for PCs. Introduced in 2003 by Intel, the Centrino package comprises the CPU chip, chipset and wireless network module. Initially offering the Pentium M chip, the Celeron M CPU was later added for the value market. Subsequently, the Core Duo and Core 2 Duo CPUs were included in the line with enhanced power conservation capabilities (see Core Duo). The Centrino Duo brand designates the Centrino platform with the Core chips. See Centrino Pro, x86 chip platform, Atom, Pentium M and Intel Core.
