Our updated understanding of cerebellar function has been supported by anatomical evidence in the monkey (Cebos apella) that cerebellar projections extend as far as area 46 (roughly corresponding with the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, Kelly and Strick 2003; figure 4), suggesting the presence of a pathway whereby the cerebellum may access executive functions.
