Cergy-Pontoise 

a city in France and capital of Vald’Oise Department; situated on the Oise River near the confluence of the Oise and the Seine. One of the satellite cities of Paris. Population, 83,000 (1974); a population of 332,000 is projected for the year 2000. Cergy-Pontoise is connected with Paris by high-speed railroad lines and highways. Many of the inhabitants are employed locally. Industry includes electrical engineering and electronics.
