Chafee, Adna (Romanza) (1842–1914) soldier; born in Orwell, Ohio. Determined and able, he served for more than a quarter-century on the southwest frontier, led a brigade in Cuba during the war with Spain, and commanded the U.S. contingent in the advance on Peking during the Boxer Rebellion of 1899–1900.
