Chandpur 

a city in Bangladesh, in Chittagong Division, in the Ganges delta. Population, 34,800 (1961). Chandpur has a railroad station and is a river port. The city’s principal industries are jute processing, oil milling, and sawmilling, including the production of matches.

Local police chief Ranjit Kumar Palit, of the Chandpur district 50 kilometres (30 miles) south of the capital Dhaka, told AFP that authorities were alerted to the case while investigating a robbery last week.
